Folios 257-259: Edward James Foote, HMS Niger at Sheerness. Requests that the Board of Ordnance be directed to supply his ship with the new carronades (commonly called bell muzzle carronades) in place of the old denomination which at different times have nearly wounded several men by breaking their breechings, slides etc, though loaded with much less powder and by no means fired so often as they might have been.
