Folios 238-239: Edward James Foote, HMS Niger, Spithead. As ordered by Sir Peter Parker he took on board the money for Plymouth dockyard and, after delivering it, he was directed to return to Portsmouth by Sir Richard King with a convoy. He encountered an enemy cruizer off Portland Bill and gave chase for an hour. He is sending a list of the ships in the convoy and the state and condition of the ship.
