Folios 223-224: Edward James Foote, HMS Niger, Spithead. He has received a reply to his request for paint for the guns and carriages to be supplied, that the established procedure for guns to be painted onshore should not be broken, but he points out that his similar request was granted a year ago the last time the guns were painted. His request was to prevent the delay which would be caused by sending the guns onshore, as HMS Niger only awaits provisions to be ready for sea.
