Folios 254-255: Edward James Foote, HMS Thorn, Yarmouth Roads. Reports he has received an application from the Commanding Officer of the South Lincoln Militia to discharge John Horner, now Ship's Corporal on HMS Thorn, as he was pressed in Sunderland in February whilst on furlough from the Regiment. As Horner was sent on board HMS Thorn by order of Vice Admiral Dalrymple, he has informed the Commanding Officer of the Militia that he cannot discharge Horner without an Admiralty Order, despite the fact he believes him. He encloses the journal for HMS Thorn from the time it left the Nore until the present. [No longer present]
