Folios 251-252: Edward James Foote, HMS Thorn, Yarmouth Roads. Advises his return the previous evening from escorting the convoy to Holland. That day he has received from Vice Admiral Dalrymple, by Lieutenant Columbine of HMS Resolution, their orders regarding the Mackerel Fishery which were given to Captain Hardy of HMS Otter. Vice Admiral Dalrymple has directed that HMS Thorn and HMS Resolution should act instead of HMS Otter, and he has informed the Mayor of Yarmouth accordingly. He does not wish to have a deputation from the Customs. Is enclosing the state and condition of HMS Thorn, and has just received copies of His Majesty's Order for continuing the bounties, which he will make public.
