Folios 241-242: Edward James Foote, HMS Thorn, the Nore. Reports that recent problems indicate that when her pilot last ran HMS Thorn on the Inner Shoal off Lowestoft in September [1793] , her false keel and copper must have been damaged, which he had not realised when reporting the accident.
