Folios 230-231: Augustus FitzRoy, HMS Pomona, Yarmouth Roads. Reports he has arrived that day from the Downs, as ordered by Vice Admiral [Joseph] Peyton, copy enclosed. He had been cruising between the Downs and Texel, as far as the Broad Fourteens, but having had no news of either His Majesty's nor enemy ships, he sailed to the Downs, hoping to get information from Rear Admiral [Henry?] Harvey. Finding only Captain [James] Douglas of HMS Jason there, who had heard nothing of Harvey and his squadron, he awaits the Board's orders, and is endeavouring in the mean time to procure pilots for the Northern Coast and take on supplies of beer and water. He is sending the weekly report [no longer present].
Folio 232: enclosure with folios 230-231. Instruction dated 30 October 1794 by Joseph Peyton, Vice Admiral of the Red, HMS Savage, the Downs, to Lord Augustus FitzRoy, HMS Pomona, ordering him to join Rear Admiral Harvey cruising between Yarmouth and Texel, and follow his orders.
