Description

Folios 80-81: Jonathon Faulknor, HMS Diana, Plymouth Sound. Responding to their letter asking why he had sailed with men onboard intended for the fleet under Earl Howe, he encloses a copy of his letter to Sir Peter Parker, Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth, on his arrival a St Helens. Their orders and those from Admiral Peyton had been for him to quickly proceed to Plymouth.

Folios 82-83: enclosure with folios 80-81. Copy of a letter dated 5 August 1794 by Jonathon Faulknor, HMS Diana, St Helens to Sir Peter Parker, Commander in Chief, Portsmouth.

Folio 84: enclosure with folios 80-81. Report dated 5 August 1794 by John Davie, 2nd Lieutenant of HMS Diana, regarding his carrying out of the orders received from Captain Jonathan Faulknor on 5 August 1794 to take a letter to Sir Peter Parker and await orders.
