Folios 263-264: Alexander Fraser, HMS Redoubt, Ostend Road. Reports he sailed with the ordnance transports from the Downs on 25 August and on arrival in Nieuport, sent an express to the Duke of York. He procured the best Pilots he could because the tides made it difficult for the transports to get over the bar. Two were able to get in on 27 August and yesterday Lieutenant James Reddy went in with two more and helped them to unload. The rest would have had to wait until the spring tides on 5 or 6 September, so with the agreement of the Duke, communicated to him by Captain Mark Robinson of HMS Brilliant, he brought them to Ostend. Complains of the conduct of the Masters of two the transports, Richard Abbott of the Mary and William Willden of the Ann, who left Nieuport without orders and proceeded to Ostend on their own while he was still sounding Nieuport harbour.
