Description

Folios 584-585: Francis Douglas, HMS Peruvian, Carlisle Bay, Barbados. Reply to letter dated 30 May 1810 requesting to know if Robert Mitchele is onboard, in order to answer a letter from Grace Mitchele. States there is no Robert Mitchele on HMS Peruvian but a John Mitchele who is Acting Carpenter as per a Warrant from Admiral George Campbell dated 30 March 1809. Has interrogated him and he declares he is a single man and has made an allotment in favour of his Mother Janette Mitchele about 4 years ago, she living in Holdmantrose, Scotland.
