Folios 545-546: Bentick Cavendish Doyle, HMS Lightning, Grimsby Roads. Report having sailed with the enclosed orders from Sir James Saumarez and having parted with that part of the Convoy for the North under charge of HMS Gallant Gun Brig. He stood in with Shone for Leith, made signal to part [Position given] and on passage to Deal as per Orders, captured the French Lugger Privateer as mentioned in his letter No1 we put in here till the weather changes.
Folio 547: enclosure with folios 545-546. Letter dated 9 November 1810 by George Frederick Ryves, HMS Africa, Gottenburgh [Gothenburgh], to Bentick Cavendish Doyle, [HMS Lightning]. As ordered by Admiral Sir James Saumarez Bart. KB. Doyle is to proceed to the Downs after seeing the trade safely to the Northern Ports.
