Folios 278-279: Hugh Downman, HMS Diomede, Tarburt Bay, River Shannon.
Reports the arrival in the Shannon of HMS Diomede from Monte Video which they left on 28 March 1807 with General Berresford on board. They put into the Shannon as they were very short of supplies but will leave for England as soon as possible. He has letters for the Admiralty which he will not send ahead as he will probably arrive ahead of any courier.

Orders Captain Downman to transport General Berresford to Spithead and take the Journal of Proceedings and dispatches to the Admiralty.
