Folios 227-228: Ross Donnelly, London. He encloses a copy of Sir Home Popham's orders; a report on the state and condition of his ship; the journal of proceedings and an account of the ship's defects.
Folios 229-230: enclosure to folios 227-228. Order from Commodore Sir Home Popham, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's ships and vessels in the Rio de la Plata, dated 21 July 1806 from on board HMS Diadem. Captain Donnelly is first directed to sail to England with despatches which he must immediately then take in person to the Admiralty as they are of national importance. Should he make landfall at any port where there is not a senior officer then he must leave his First Lieutenant in charge of HMS Narcissus with orders tosail her to Spithead, reporting his arrival accordingly.
