Folios 205-206: Michael Dod, Arklow, Ireland. He writes that the Commissioners of the Nore have issued an impress against him for a deficiency of Slops and Beds for HMS Conflict, a gun brig, when, as a Lieutenant, he was commanding her. The problem arose from his not accounting correctly for the winter clothes which were supplied because of the extreme cold weather. In the circumstances he hopes the Admiralty will grant him a Dispensing Order as he now has no means of correcting the accounts because they and other accounting books are still with HMS Conflict which he left when he was superceded from her in 1802.
