Folios 174-175: Manley Dixon, Swansey [Swansea]. He encloses a letter he has received from Lieutenant Phillips, who is serving under him in the Sea Fencibles. He writes that he is unable to perform his duty because of his severe illness. He asks that he be superceded. Captain Dixon adds that in his opinion, apart from his physical illness, Lieutenant Phillips also suffers from acute mental distress making him quite incapable of filling his post andso he support his request to be relieved of his post.
Folios 176-177: enclosure to folios 174-175. Letter dated 13 January 1806 from Richard Mansel Philipps, Port Eynon, Swansea. He states he is quite incapable of performing his duties in the Sea Fencibles at Lanmadock [Llanmadoc] and asks to be superceded.
