Folios 141-142: Stephen Thomas Digby, HMS Vestal off Boulogne. A man named John Thompson who has served onboard HMS Vestal for a long time, confessed that he deserted from the 18th Regiment of Dragoons and now wishes to claim a pardon under the recent Proclamation for Pardoning Deserters. Captain Digby has written about this in the pastbut has had not reply and so he does so again now and askes to know if the man has been pardoned as he is anxious as to the outcome, given he is very happy in his present job.
