Folios 597-598: John Thomas Duckworth, HMS Leviathan, the Hamoaze. Reports that by his orders Samuel Curry, then Purser of HMS Rattler at Santo Domingo, was moved to HMS Hindostan in October 1796. Mr Curry has told him that the Admiralty have ordered the Hindostan's former Purser, Mr Bandock, to resume his station, which he did on 30 June. Captain Francis Collingwood reported to him that Mr Bandock was absent without leave and asked him to appoint another Purser because the ship needed one. Captain Collingwood believed that Mr Bandock was a deserter and had gone back to England. He believes Mr Curry has done a good job in the Hindostan, and was put to considerable expense to supply her with necessaries, asks that he be given some redress.
