Folios 548-549: William O'Bryen Drury, HMS Powerful, the Hamoaze. Asks for James Shaw to be paid his wages. Mr Shaw was Carpenter of the packet Thyme, for which Ben Pindar is agent at Falmouth, when the Thyme was captured in September 1794 and taken to France. Mr Shaw was put aboard a cartel for England in September 1795, but she met HMS Bellerophon at sea and he was taken into that ship and later transferred to the Powerful. He is claiming his wages of £3 a month for his time as a French prisoner, and although his friend has received £16 10s in part payment, Mr Pindar refuses to pay the balance.
