Folios 532-533: John Drummond, HMS Sulphur, Galleons Reach. Because he is suffering from mental distress, asks if another officer can be appointed temporarily to command the ship while he takes the advice of his own Surgeon and the Physician of Greenwich Hospital to recover his health. Encloses opinions from both doctors.
Folios 534-535: enclosure with folios 532-533. Copy of a letter from R Robertson, Royal Hospital, Greenwich to Commander John Drummond dated 3 October 1797. In addition to taking the prescribed medicine, recommends that Commander Drummond take five or six weeks ashore to recover his health.
Folios 536-537: enclosure with folios 532-533. Copy of a letter from Surgeon Thomas Parker, HMS Sulphur, to Commander John Drummond dated 3 October 1797. Recommends several weeks ashore and horseback riding to relieve Commander Drummond of his depression.
