Folios 146-147: Thomas Dewey, [Regulating Captain], Exeter Naval Rendzvous. Money due to William Cox is outstanding because he di dnot collect it. He was discharged because he abscented himself from his duty. The person who wrote the letter was formerly an attorney but has been confined in the House of Correction for 10 years due to insanity.
Folios 148-149: enclosure with folios 146-147 dated 30 August 1796 from Lieutenant Robert Deane to Thomas Dewey, Regulating Captain, Exeter. An account of the pay of £2/8/0d due to William Cox. He will pay him if he presents himself and provides a voucher.
