Folio 86: Charles Sidney Davers, HMS Scipio, at sea. He is enclosing a memorial of Robert Lloyd now serving as acting Lieutenant.
Folio 87: enclosure with folio 86 from Robert Lloyd, Acting Lieutenant. He had been taken prisoner by the French and carried to Point Petre, Guadaloupe where he lost his journals and certificates of 10 years' service. In 1795 he was exchanged into Martinique where Sir John Laforey appointed him Acting Lieutenant on HMS Scipio. He reqeuested his certifictae from the Navy Board but before they arrived the ship was ordred to the coast of Demarary and Sir John Laforey was superceded. It is now a year since his request and as there are 2 vacancies on HMS Scipio, he asks to be confirmed as Lieutenant.
