Folios 407-408: Sir Ross Donnelly, HMS Pegasus, Spithead. Received letter 30 October saying Lieutenant Hugh Cook is appointed to HMS Pegasus. Requests another Lieutenant as he’s not appeared. Asks can Lieutenant Newton continue as 1st Lieutenant, him having acted as a Master or Boatswain during their absence. Needing a Master to be appointed.
