Folios 229-230: John Dilkes, HMS Madras. Replies to letter about Samuel Blanchard. Reports the boy came and offered himself to the ship bringing a box with cloths. He steadfastly denied he was an apprentice when he questioned him attentively. Has admitted him being too good a subject as a Boy to reject.The Purser has not yet joined HMS Madras.
