Folios 203-204: Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer. Acknowledges letter 29 August informing him that Thomas Lane and John Bulled, two of Devon’s magistrates intend holding petty sessions at Sakes Bridge [Sequers Bridge] in Holbeton parish on 18 September. Says he willl attend such meeting. Acknowledges receipt of four copies of HM proclamation for confirming the Bounty to Seamen, 31 October.
Folios 205-206: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 28 August 1795. Acknowledges letter 26 August. Says he’ll strictly comply with Order of Council’s directions.
Folios 207-208: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 23 August 1795. Acknowledges letter of 20 August. Says they can depend on him to comply with the enclosed Order of Council.
Folios 209-210: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 28 July 1795. Acknowledges letter 23 July informing him that Magistrates acting for the East Budleigh hundreds will be holding a meeting to execute the Act for levying vagrants for the Navy, 3 August, at the Duke of York Inn, Clyst St George parish, Devon. Confirms he’ll attend the meeting to receive men that may be tendered to him under the said Act.
Folios 211-212: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 11 July 1795. Says he will comply with the Orders in Council enclosed in their letter 8/9 July.
Folios 213-214: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 10 July 1705. Acknowledges 7 July letter. Says he will attend the Magistrates meeting at Exeter Castle, Friday 10 July to execute the Act of Parliament for raising able Bodied and Idle persons to serve in the Navy.
Folios 215-216: enclosed in folios 203-204. Captain Thomas Dewey, Exeter Regulating Officer, 8 July 1795. Acknowledges letter 4 July to say that the Admiralty had received a letter from the Axminster Hundred Magistrates acquainting them of the time and place they’ll be meeting to execute the Vagrancy Act. Says he’ll attend.
