Folios 119-120: Robert Deans, Regulating Officer, Berwick. Reports the Parish have agreed to find a man to replace George Ferrier who evaded the Surgeon’s search and found unfit with a leg ulcer. Says the Surgeon sometimes has difficulty examining them quietly. Thought him aged but he said he was forty five and eligible as he had been a Quarter Master in one of HM’s ships. He shall instruct the Surgeon to be more strict.
