Folios 115-116: James Dawson, Dumfries. Reports his arrival with one of the Commissioners from Dumfries who came to Kirkcudbright for him to examine some men. Given his approval to six, five landsmen and a seaman. Will set out for tonight for Portpatrick, from there to Stranrawer [Stranraer] and Wigtown which he expects to examine on Monday and Tuesday in accordance to his orders from Captain Jahleel Brenton at Greenock, 13 April.
