Folios 163-164: Edmond Dod, HMS Dictator, Spithead. After his arrival in Cape Coast Road he received a requisition dated 5 June 1793 to attack and reduce the French settlement of Amoco following a summons dated 23 April 1793 to surrender. Lieutenant Webber of HMS Sea Floweralso sent a summons dated 3 June 1793. This was refused and several incidents followed. In conversation with Governor Archibald Dalzel and Vice President Gordon, Govr of Anamaboe at Cape Coast Castle he objected attacking the settlement because they had hoisted the white flag. In conclusion he says the comander of the settlement is a supporter of the old regime.
Folio 165: enclosure with folios 163-164. Vice Admiral John Jervis, Commander in Chief at Barbados, HMS Boyne off St Pierre Martinique, 30 September1794 to Edmund Dod, HMS Dicator, by command of the Admiral G Purvis. Dod is ordered to remain in Fort Royal Bay until the trade is ready by 15 October and having taken the trade of Fort Royal and St Pierre, the army hospital ship and cartels under convoy, to proceed off Roseau Dominique. There to collect any ships assembled , proceed to the Saintsto pick up a Navy victualler and ordance transport and any trade and look into Bassterre, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Basseterre, St Chrisopher for the trade there and proceed to Spithead after seeing the cartels safe into Falmouth, Plymouth or Spithead depending on wind etc.
Folio 166: enclosure with folios 163-164. Edmund Dod, HMS Dictator, 24 October 1794, order to Richard Bridges, HMS Fairy, to keep at the rear of the convoy. If HMS Dictator became separated from the convoy, he is to proceed to Spithead with the ships and vessels that remain and report to the Admiralty.
Folio 167: enclosure with folios 163-164. Edmund Dod, HMS Dictator, 22 June 1794, order to Richard Bridges, HMS Fairy, to proceed to Whydah to support the company's [ferants?] and garrison and then proceed to Island of St Thomas to join him and complete his wood and waterand then to Barbados to pick up further orders.
