Folios 154-155: Edmond Dod, HMS Dictator, at sea. Reporting that he has recaptured the Dutch ship Bryarda Whalda, which had sailed from Gibraltar under the convoy of 3 English ships of the line and 4 frigates and 170 trade. It was captured by the French L'Tribune. L'Tribune had also taken other vessels of the convoy. e has put a masters mate, 5 men from the Dictator and a midshipman and 4 men from the Fairy on board the Dutch vessel and sent her into Plymouth. He chased the French frigate Carmagnol, but she was too fast.
