Folios 236-237: Edmund Dod, HMS Charon, Woolwich. Reports the arrival of the Deptford and Woolwich Tenders and that the Petty Officers and the Foremast men belonging to HMS Charon were sent on board them to be carried to HMS Bellona. Both have sailed but the Deptford ran aground near the Dockyard and some of the seamen have taken a boat and escaped, but cannot ascertain the number as no Officer's report has been received. Understand that Captain Edwards has applied for HMS Charon's party of Marines but he has received no direction yet.
