He sailed form St Christophers Islands on the 15 June 1793 and from Tortola on 18 June 1793 with one hundred and forty three sail under his convoy. On 28 July 1793 he struck soundings and sent HMS Winchelsea with the ships and vessels bound up the St George's Channel, with orders to see them in safety to their respective ports or as far as their course and then to make his way to Spithead. Reports he has eighty sail with him that are bound to London and two bound for Hull. The ships New Brunswick, the ship Fisher and Brig Commerce and two others left the convoy on the second night and have not been seen since. Two vessels bound for Bermuda and one for Newfoundland parted the convoy with permission. He repeatedly sent HMS Winchelsea and HMS Scorpion to bring them into the fleet. He has HMS Centurion and HMS Winchelsea with him in the Downs.
