Folios 700-701: Philippe D'Auvergne, Duke de Bouillon, Jersey. States he has received a report from Brest that confirms what he had told them in his dispatch of 3 January 1805 and that there has been no movement since. Reports that the Chiefs who had been called to attend the Coronation have not yet returned to their ports and the General and Admiral are the Captains of the Divisions destined for sea. They are short of provisions and bread is being made as flour arrives. States that Honore Joseph Antoine Ganteaume has received a gratification of 50,000 lires, which is known to be a reimbursement of monies he laid out to quiet the clamour in the division when he exercised it as far as Bertheaume. Instructions have been given to the beneficiaries of governments to circulate information that a reconciliation is about to take place between the Government, Russia and the Ottoman Porte.
