Description

Folios 246-247: John Erskine Douglas, 23 Golden Square. Reports that Vice Admiral Sir William Parker received orders at Halifax on 17 June 1801 to proceed to England in HMS St Albans and he left the station 22 June 1801 and Sir Andrew Mitchell arrived in his place on 1 August 1802. His orders were that he succeeded in command and he request allowance of pay should be granted to him as it had to other Captains who have command of His Majesty's Squadrons abroad citing Captain George Losack as an example.
