Folios 242-243: John Erskine Douglas, 23 Norfolk Street. Response to a report from the Transport Board that an unnecessary expense had been thrown on the public by him not having abolished the Establishment for Prisoners of War at Halifax as soon as they expected, They direct that £195 10s 7d should be deducted from his pay. Outlines his conduct in relation to this allegation. He had intended to discharge these prisoners onto HMS Boston, but finding that six out of seven had a fever this was delayed until the end of March 1802 . He counters that if anything he has saved the public considerable expense and asks for compensation, plus interest, for the money advanced by his agent in consequence of his having received no pay since the beginning of 1802.
Folio 244: enclosure with folios 242-243. Admiralty record slip undated.
