Folios 238-239: John Erskine Douglas, L' Impetueux, Cawsand Bay. Reports his arrival as ordered by Lord Alan Gardner. Encloses a ship's defect report and a copy of Lord Alan Gardner's order.
Folio 240: enclosure with folios 238-239. John Erskine Douglas, HMS L' Impetueux. Ship's defect report signed by Captain John Erskine Douglas and G H Cromwell, Carpenter.
Folio 241: enclosure with folios 238-239. Orders dated 12 April 1805 by Lord Alan Gardner, HMS Hibernia, off Ushant to John Erskine Douglas, HMS Impetueux. Order to proceed to Cawsand Bay and replenish water and stores to cover five months and to join him in Ushant.
