Folios 208-209: John Draper, HMS Weymouth, Rio de Janeiro. Reports leaving Spithead on 1 February 1805, with five East India Ships under convoy: Wexford, Addington, Royal George, Bombay Castle and Abergavenny, and two South Sea Ships: Aurora and Pitt. They passed through the Needles and he was informed by the Master of the Aurora, that the East India Ships had decided to sail without convoy. Provides a copy of the general instructions he gave to the Commanders of the East India Ships, along with a signal book, in addition to the printed instructions and signals for ships under convoy. Explains that he has now pulled into Port as there was only forty tons of water on board.
