Folios 191-192: Archibald Duff, 32 Upper King Street, Bloomsbury. Reports that Thomas Stones, late Purser of his ship HMS Megaera, refused to sign the usual certificates when he left to enable him to pass the accounts. He is now demanding payment of four guineas, a charge which he said was incurred hiring craft over the winter to supply the ship with wood and coals. Brings this to their attention as if the ship did cross the spit in winter laden with coals this was a danger to crew on a Man of War. Requests that this is taken into consideration and orders may be given to enable him to pass his accounts.
