Folios 63-64: George Dundas, HMS Elephant, off the Texel. Reports David Moscript [Moscrip] (or as per list Daniel) was drafted from HMS Inflexible to HMS Elephant as a Landsman. He left his Father's service due to bad treatment and is twenty years of age in October. This does not tally with his baptism certificate. He has no wish to return home.
Folio 65: enclosure with folios 63-64. Baptism certificate for David Moscrip [David Moscript] who was born on 27 October 1789 and baptised 22 November 1789. His parents are Robert and Margaret Moscrip [Moscript], Frontier Court, St Martin in the Fields. Extracted from the Registers in the Scots Church, Craven Court, Russell Street, Covent Garden and signed by the Elders George Rew, John Stephenson and John Young.
Folios 66-67: enclosure with folios 63-64. Letter dated 10 July 1805 by James Williams, 4 Lancaster Court, to the Admiralty. Request for the discharge of David Moscript, a youth who eloped from his Masters Service and is on HMS Inflexible, enclosing a baptism certificate.
