Folios 573-574 William Durban, HMS Ambuscade, Portsmouth. Reply to letter dated 23 January 1804 informs that Andrew Graham - Acting Carpenter is on shore chequed without leave, that John Handley - Acting Gunner has not passed, nor has any Certificates from the Captains he has sailed with; neither, from his conduct in HMS Ambuscade should he think himself justified in giving him a certificate. Encloses [not included] a list of ships in which Thomas Bond - Acting Boatswain has sailed.
