Folios 233-234: Manley Dixon, HMS Queen, St Helens. States Admiral Theophilius Jones late Captain of HMS Queen, having informed him that he had represented of the great attentions made in the stowage of the Iron and Shingle Ballast, so as to bring the Ship considerably more by the Stern than she had ever been. He thinks it is his duty to represent the same to the Board and that the ship now swims five feet, three inches by the Stern, the Draft of Water taken this morning. States that he understands the best sailing trim and steerage is from eighteen to twenty inches only by the stern.
