Folios 218-219: John Dilkes, HMS Salvador del Mundo. Reply to letter dated 13 March 1804 informing him that there is no fixed allowance for postage etc, and that he must state the actual expense. He has used two reams and a quarter for half a year and about four hundred quills which if they order their stationers to supply him with. He cannot imagine the amount of wax wafer and ink powder. As to postage heshall, from this day, keep a regular account of the expense of each of his letters.
