Description

Folios 554-555: Philip Dumaresq, HMS Charwell, Spithead. Informs that on 20th June off Beachy Head, on his way to Plymouth he encountered a French ship, Walfort des Nava Sacons of about 350 tons, bound for Bordeaux from Hamburgh, laden with hemp, lead, tin, copper and other items, which he believes is enemy property. He has therefore detained her.
