Folios 552-553: Philip Dumaresq, HMS Charwell, in the Downs. Reporting on the case of the drowning of a sailor due to the refusal of the captain of the East India Company ship, Comet to send a boat out to save him. He is justifying his conduct in encouraging the crew of the Comet to enter HMS Charwell, carrying their beds and possessions.
