Description

Folios 347-348: Manley Dixon, HMS Genereux, Port Mahon. Since his last letter sent by the brig HMS Speedy he now reports that the squadron under Rear Admiral Sir John Warren has been seen off Brindisi where he is blocking French vessels in the port. It seems that Admiral Ganteaume has divided his squadron. The part that chased HMS Pomone off Toulon has been seen off Cape de Creus and is believed to be going to Carthagena. Captain William Bowen on HMS Caroline is in the area and HMS Pomone will cruise between Menorca and Majorca. HMS Africaine and HMS Delight are being fitted out. The crews of HMS Incendiary and HMS Sprightly have been received, crew of HMS Bulldog is expected and 100 French officers and crew are to be sent to France.
