Folios 259-260: Man[n] Dobson, HMS Queen, at sea. Copy letter to Charles Tinling, Commander, HMS Scorpion, by order of Sir Hyde Parker. Orders to make for Cape Clear, the S.W. part of Ireland, with the convoy. Instructions to proceed to the Rendezvous as soon as possible. In the absence of HMS Queen or of meeting any Cruisers, or other particular orders, to send HMS Stork with the ships bound for Ireland and St George's Channel, and to proceed with the remainder up the English Channel to The Downs, and to report arrival there. If he arrives at Cape Clear without any of the convoy, he should continue to cruise in the latitude of the Cape as long as provisions allow, to protect the convoy when it arrives. In the event of meeting Cruisers off Cape Clear, to make use of the Private Signal for ships coming from windward, of which he has a copy.
