Folios 233-234: John Erskine Douglas, HMS Boston, Portsmouth. As it appears that HMS Boston should be docked, that from the observations he has made on those ships that have had an addition of false keel he is certain it would improve the sailing and stability if seven or eight inches of false keel were added to her. Requests directions for the additions be made.
