Folios 215-216: Billy Douglas, HMS Sandwich, [Chatham]. The Surgeon of HMS Argonaut Hospital Ship, having informed him that he has just sent twenty men from a late cartel which he has great reason to think are infected with a jail fever, under those circumstances, begs leave to suggest the dangerous consequences that must attend the introduction of a fever into the Prison Ships and if their Lordships approve of it, he will send only Sick Seamen from the Ships under his orders to the Dutch Hospital Ship until the danger of infections may be over, and the Royal Marines may be sent to the Hospital in Barracks, for the same time, as the same contractor furnishes the Dutch Hospital, little inconvenience or trouble will arise from the above measures.
