Folios 204-205: Billy Douglas, HMS Sandwich, [Chatham]. Mr Thomas Valler, Purser of HMS Sandwich is extremely ill and his physicians have recommended it to him to try if a change of air will be of use to him. He has asked me to apply for a leave of absence and request it be granted. Encloses a letter from the Purser of HMS Bristol.
Folios 206-207: enclosures with folios 204-205. Letter dated 11 July 1799 by Robert Adams, Chatham, to the Admiralty. Represents that he has been a considerable time afflicted with the gout in his Head, which often appears dangerous. Solicits leave of absence for one month from HMS Bristol Prison Ship.
