Folios 129-130: John Dilkes, HMS Madras, Downs. Report my arrival here having received orders from Admiral [Archibald Dickson to repair to Spithead without loss of time, and wait further orders. I parted from the Admiral on Wednesday 29 May 1799 then off the Texel, I entered the Channel on Sunday Morning and had reached as high as beachy Head when this morning at 3 o'clock a gale forced to this Road. The moment the gale ceases I will proceed.
