Description

Folios 105-106: Henry Digby, HMS Alcmene, off the Berlings [Berlengas, Portugal]. Covering letter for the enclosed letter to Earl St Vincent [Sir John Jervis (Viscount St Vincent)]. The Privateer mentioned sailed from Passage with le Bordelais French Ship Privateer and Le Grand Decide Brig, they were victualled for three months and were to return themselves & send their Prises to Passage.

Folios 107-108: enclosure with folios 105-106. Letter dated 6 July 1799 by Henry Digby, HMS Alcmene, to Earl St Vincent [Sir John Jervis (Viscount St Vincent)]. Letter with information from a neutral vessel of several large Privateers that had been hovering on the Coast of Portugal. [Gives details of courses, locations and dates].
