Folios 71-72: George Augustus Delance, HMS Ann, Harwich Roads. States that as per orders of Admiral [Lord Adam] Duncan [(1st Viscount Duncan of Camperdown)] on the 1 December 1799, he proceeded to Southwould, it having been reported a Kings Ship was on shore at the Bramble, owing to the strong westerly winds he did not get the length of them till the 2 December 1799. Is happy to say no appearance of vessel or wreck were discernable on either the Bramble or Sole. He then tried to rejoin Lord [Adam] Duncan but the wind changed and lost an anchor but took shelter in the first safe harbour. Arrived safe in this port PM on 4 December 1799 and will rejoin his Lordship or follow any other Orders.
